Brideshead Revisited

Emma Thompson, Michael Gambon, Mathew Goode, Ben Whishaw, Hayley Atwell, Felicity Jones and Greta Scacchi star in this sumptuous adaptation of the novel by Evelyn Waugh about forbidden love and lost innocence. Captain Charles Ryder, stationed at Brideshead Castle during World War II, revisits his time at the estate and his memories of the aristocratic family. Julian Jarrold (Becoming Jane) directs. Rated PG-13

Henry Poole (Luke Wilson) takes refuge in a run-down tract home where no one knows him. His efforts to hide from his life are thwarted when his nosy neighbor notices what she believes to be a sacred image on his stucco wall. This uplifting fable reminds us that hope comes from unexpected sources. Radha Mitchell and Adriana Barraza co-star; the director is Mark Pellington (Arlington Road). Rated PG

Brick Lane

Nazneen, an eighteen year old girl from Bangladesh, is sent away from her beloved sister to London for an arranged marriage, where she fulfills cultural expectations as a wife and mother, but she struggles with an attraction to a man close to her own age and with feelings that there must be more to her life. Starring Tannishtha Chatterjee and Christopher Simpson, directed by Sarah Gavron, based on the best selling novel by Monica Ali. Rate PG-13

Tell No One

This French romantic suspense thriller is based on the best selling American novel by Harlan Coben. A pediatrician whose beloved wife was murdered eight years earlier is notified that the case will be re-opened and that he is a suspect when two bodies are found near the scene of the first crime. Then he receives a video clip via anonymous e-mail which suggests that his wife is still alive. The powerhouse cast includes Francois Cluzet, Kristin Scott-Thomas, Marie-Josee Croze, Nathalie Baye and Jean Rochefort. Not rated; in French with English Subtitles.
